'Nieuw onderzoek naar aanslag Lockerbie'
De Britse politie overweegt een nieuw onderzoek in te stellen naar de bomaanslag boven Lockerbie. Britse nabestaanden van de slachtoffers zijn daarover geïnformeerd door de Schotse justitie. Dat schrijft de Britse Sunday Telegraph. De Schotse justitie zou de dossiers nog eens na willen lopen en gesprekken willen voeren met collega's van de Britse forensische recherche.
Abdel Baset al-Megrahi is de enige die is veroordeeld voor de bomaanslag. Omdat hij een dodelijke vorm van kanker heeft, mocht hij in augustus terug naar Libië. Een belangengroep van nabestaanden vroeg in 1988 al om een openbaar onderzoek naar de aanval.

Op-Ed on Al-Quds Al-Arabi today by the Editor-in Chief of Abdel al-Bari Atwan, says that the opening of the investigations in Lockerbie case again means a new new blackmail for more than one country, and most likely will be Syria and/or Iran.
A UK TV channel already made a documentary, accuses Syria, Iran and Palestinian faction of being behind the Pan-Am bomb.

A legal official in Malta says his country's government will investigate a Maltese shopkeeper who provided key evidence in the Lockerbie bombing.
The unidentified legal official said Malta will investigate shopkeeper Tony Gauci, who tabbed Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi as the individual who orchestrated the deadly bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 in December 1988, The Daily Telegraph reported Saturday.
