Rob de Wijk, The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies, Pentagon en The Trilateral Commission

Samenvatting

Rob de Wijk is de oprichter van The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies (HCSS). Hij en zijn experts zijn regelmatig te zien op televisie, in de krant, bij BNR Nieuwsradio en op Twitter. De Wijk lijkt in het conflict in Oekraïne erg eenzijdig te berichten: zeer op de hand van Oekraïne, NATO, EU en de VS; er wordt nagenoeg niet gerept over de staatsgreep gesteund door de CIA in 2014; acht jaar onderdukking van de etnische Russen komt niet aan bod; en de afspraak dat NATO niet zou uitbreiden naar het oosten lijkt geen rol te spelen.

Dit je niet zou verwachten van een Professor International Relations en een organisatie met dit op de startpagina:
“HCSS conducts research on geopolitical and defence & security issues for governments, international institutions and businesses. Our research is characterized by a datadriven, multidisciplinary approach, specialist knowledge and a strategic orientation.”

Een mogelijke verklaring voor deze vooringenomenheid zou te vinden kunnen zijn in de leden van de Adviesraad en bij de namen van partners en de klanten. In de Raad van Advies (Advisory Board) zitten:

• Renée Jones-Bos: Voormalig Nederlands ambassadeur in Rusland en de VS. Heden lid van The Trilateral Commission met aldaar de vermelding “Chair, Supervisory Committee, Dutch Intelligence Services”.
• Mathieu Segers: Onder andere Hoogleraar Hedendaagse Europese Geschiedenis en Europese Integratie aan de Universiteit Maastricht (UM). Lid van de Wetenschappelijke Raad voor het Regeringsbeleid (WRR)
• Arnoud Boot: Onder andere Hoogleraar Corporate Finance en Financiële Markten aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam en fellow van de Koninklijke Nederlandse Akademie van Wetenschappen (KNAW).

The Trilateral Commission (TLC) bevindt zich in het rijtje van organisaties met zeer invloedrijke leden, zoals Council on Foreign Relations, Bilderberg-groep en het World Economic Forum. Tijdens de TLC-jaarvergadering in maart riep men 2023 uit als jaar één van de nieuwe wereldorde.

Een aantal van HCSS’ partners zijn: U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon), veel Nederlandse Ministeries en het NFI. Onder de klanten bevinden zich o.a.: NATO, de Koninklijke Landmacht, grote gemeenten en Thales.

Zij is voormalig Nederlands ambassadeur in Rusland en de Verenigde staten. Nu is ze lid van The Trilateral Commission. Op de Europese ledenlijst (bron 13) staat ze zo vermeld:

Mathieu Segers

Dit is vermeld op de website van Maastricht University (zie bron 8):
“Mathieu Segers is Professor of Contemporary European History and European Integration at Maastricht University (UM). In addition, he holds the EuropaChair of UM, in which capacity he chairs the Academic Board of the ‘Maastricht, Working on Europe’ (MWoE) program, executed through Studio Europa Maastricht.
Segers was a Fulbright-Schuman Fellow at the Center for European Studies of Harvard University (2010) and Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Politics and IR at the University of Oxford (2013). He has held the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of European Integration and International Relations at Utrecht University from 2008-2016. He joined UM in 2016, and served as Dean of University College Maastricht from 2016-2020.”

Arnoud Boot

Dit is vermeld op de website van Arnoud Boot (zie bron 7):
“Arnoud Boot is professor of Corporate Finance and Financial Markets at the University of Amsterdam and fellow of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW). He is research fellow at the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) in London, and chair of the Scientific Council at the Brussels based think tank Bruegel. The Trilateral Commission

Algemeen

The Trilateral Commission is in 1973 gesticht door David Rockefeller en Zbigniew Brezinski. Het idee was om een betere samenwerking te creëren tussen de regio’s Noord-Amerika, Europa en Japan. Intussen zijn er meer landen ten zuiden van Japan lid geworden en wordt de regio Azië-Pacific genoemd.

Circa vierhonderd invloedrijke mensen uit de politiek, bankwezen, bedrijfsleven en diverse NGOs zijn gekozen lid van deze NGO.
Tijdens de laatste jaarlijkse bijeenkomst (10-12 maart 2023) in New Delhi, riep The Trilateral Commission 2023 uit als jaar één van de nieuwe wereldorde (zie bron 12).

Task Force on Global Capitalism in Transition

Er is een task force met 32 leden die een rapport hebben geschreven met de titel ‘Global Capitalism in Transition’. Namens Nederland zit Hans Wijers in de Task Force. Dit schrijft de website (zie bron 11):
“The Trilateral Commission convened in 2021 distinguished business leaders, scholars, and policymakers from around the world in its Task Force on Global Capitalism in Transition.
The time was right for this effort. Capitalism or market-based economies are at a historic transition point. Capitalism’s positive impact on prosperity and well-being is unmatched. Nonetheless, many people are frustrated today by its inability to handle some of the greatest challenges facing society. There are growing concerns about whether market-based economies will be able to address three major challenges. First, climate change. Second, the disruptions triggered by the digital revolution. Third, rising inequalities.”
