Geheime dienst Syrie dumpt lijken tegenstanders in rivier

Securing Lebanon from the Threat of Salafist Jihadism
'In my view, a statement by the UN Security Council chairman or a statement for the press would be quite a satisfactory step,' Ambassador Vitaly Churkin was quoted as saying by Russia's Iter-Tass news agency.
'If it sends a signal to stop violence and find a solution through political means, it will be an important and valuable contribution, he said, adding that Moscow had a 'fairly flexible stand' on the issue.
At the same time, Churkin expressed understanding for al-Assad, saying that it was difficult to introduce reforms during a situation in which the opposition 'turns to violence.'
And he made pointed reference Russia's opposition to the NATO attacks on forces loyal to Moammer Gaddafi, saying he did not want 'to repeat the Libyan script'.
There were things the Security Council could do on Syria and things it could not, he said.
During an emergency meeting on Monday following the latest violence in Syria, which activists said left dozens dead, the Western members of the council presented a draft resolution. The sponsors want a the resolution to be put to a vote within 48 hours, Churkin said.
Succes, Ben
When the corporate-owned media claims Syrian protesters are "mostly unarmed" they are really saying in Orwellian terms, they are indeed armed.
